The Flash Memory Inventory Glut!

It seems that not only Sandisk has a tough time getting their inventory out but also Creative Technology. Creative is facing challenges as well when memory prices fell because producers increased production of the memory chips. Creative makes MP3 players and use flash memory for storage.

“The decline in flash memory prices hurt Creative's sales and prompted it to downgrade the value of its inventory of the chips, Creative said Wednesday. Flash memory chips used in music players fell in price earlier this year as producers increased production of the chips, flooding the market with them.” (Macworld) .

Too much supply of flash memory maybe good for the consumers since it drags prices down but it takes its toll on producers.
